tricks, treats and wagging tails

keep the spooky season fun for everyone!

Halloween is full of costumes, candy, decorations, and excitement! But some of the things we love about Halloween can be scary (or even dangerous) for our pets.

Here are a few simple tips to keep your furry friends safe this Halloween!

๐Ÿฌ 1. beware the candy bowl

Chocolate and sugar-free candy can be toxic to dogs. Keep candy bowls and trick-or-treat bags out of reach, and watch out for wrappers that curious pups might swallow.

๐Ÿ‘ป 2. cute, not constricting

Costumes are adorable, but not every dog enjoys dressing up! Make sure your pet can walk, see, breathe, and move comfortably. If they're not having fun, skip the costume. A festive bandana works just as well!

๐Ÿšช 3. ding dong!

With trick-or-treaters coming and going, it's easy for a pet to sneak outside. Keep pets away from busy doorways and make sure their ID tags and microchip information are up to date.

๐ŸŽƒ 4. beware haunted house hazards

Keep candles, electrical cords, fake spiderwebs, and small decorations away from curious noses and paws. Battery-operated candles are a safer choice for jack-o'-lanterns!

๐Ÿถ 5. boo, bye

Strange costumes, ringing doorbells, and excited kids can be overwhelming. Give your pet a quiet place to relax if the festivities become too much.

๐ŸŒ™ 6. glow, little ghost, glow!

Heading out for a Halloween walk? Use a leash and add reflective gear or a light to help keep your pup visible.
